Mauka Gallery is celebrating with an opening bash
on First Friday, December 4, 5-8 pm
1425 South Higgins, Missoula, MT 59801
Mauka Gallery and Studio is pleased to announce it’s opening celebration on First Friday, December 4 in Missoula, Montana.
Mauka Gallery’s first exhibition will be “moments of noticing” by mixed media artist Susan Crawford. Susan is a native Montanan who recently moved to Missoula from New York City. She graduated from the University of Montana and studied at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu and Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York. She is a member of the National Association of Women Artists in New York City.
Crawford’s current work explores the practice of pausing to notice and reflect on the beauty all around us: like late afternoon reflections in the water or the color of bougainvillea contrasted against a deep blue sky. She feels this sort of noticing literally causes a stirring in one’s soul and a deep connection to place. Her large three-dimensional paintings are a joyful response to her profoundly personal experiences of connection. Crawford’s pieces are in private and corporate collections across the country, including Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital in Connecticut and C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Michigan.
Mauka Gallery and Studio is located at 1425 South Higgins Avenue and will open Friday, December 4 at 5pm.
